About Our Church

Believing our Lord's Great Commission to the church is that we make disciples, win the lost, baptize and teach people, the purpose of Hillcrest Baptist Church is to magnify the triune God through worship and praise, to minister to the needs of people in our community and surrounding communities, to communicate the message of Christ through creative evangelistic Bible study and outreach, and to develop believers through discipleship, mission action, stewardship, and lay involvement in ministry.

On November 14, 1954 a group of people met at the Carlisle Community Building (known today as the Carlisle Town Hall) establishing “a Southern Missionary Baptist Church” in the community.   In June 1955 the Carlisle Mission Church was formerly constituted as Hillcrest Baptist Church with 50 charter members.  Starting as a mission church from First Baptist Church, Germantown, Ohio, Hillcrest became mission minded and became the sponsor of several new church starts: Waynesville Baptist, Pekin Mission, Riverview Baptist, Amanda Baptist and University Baptist.

In February 1957 Hillcrest moved into a newly constructed building on Hillcrest Avenue (now Carlisle Manor Nursing Home).  In 1964 four acres were purchased on Central Avenue and a 600-seat sanctuary was built.  A new education building was added on in 1971.  As Hillcrest continued to grow the need for a new sanctuary was realized in 1983 with the construction of a sanctuary seating 1200 people.  The church continues to worship at this location…

Hillcrest Baptist Church is affiliated with the Miami Valley Baptist Association and the Southern Baptist Convention.
